53.....Dinodoom

Ok...so what the heck is a Dinodoom? Well, this is just one more cog in the doomsday machine which points to our imminent destruction (or salvation via rapture ...praise God...according to your point of view). Please consider the following chart...

What killed the Dinosaurs? It could be the same thing that is going to kill man as scientists are finding an increasing number of clues that the Earth was struck by a comet or asteroid. In 1979 geologist Walter Alvarez, of the University of California at Berkeley, announced his new and intriguing extinction hypothesis which became the Alvarez theory.

In the Apennine Mountains of northern Italy, while doing routine sampling of limestone sediments dating from the Cretaceous and subsequent Tertiary eras, Alvarez found a reddish-gray layer of clay less than an inch thick. Uncertain as to what he had found...he brought the samples home to his father, Nobel Prize winning physicist Luis Alvarez.

Chemical analysis showed that the clay held uncharacteristically high levels of the heavy metal iridium, which is found in high concentrations in meteorites. The clay was found to be barren of fossils, though the layers of limestone immediately above and below the clay deposit were rich in fossils.

The iridium must have come from outer space...most plausibly from an asteroid out of the Van Allen Belt which struck the Earth at a speed of apx. 50,000 miles per hour creating a huge crater and a dusty debris which circled the Earth, blotting out the sun and plunging the Earth into darkness for several months, causing sharp temperature drops and  freezing conditions. Animals which were not killed outright soon died from starvation. In June of 1987, two Canadians announced a spectacular find...an undersea crater 28 miles wide situated on the continental shelf, 125 miles s.e. of Nova Scotia, and rich in iridium.

In 1983 paleontologists of the University of Chicago charted the extinction records of some 3,500 families of marine organisms during the past 250 million years and they found that mass extinctions seem to occur with notable frequency every 26 million years. Then they sought to find a cosmic phenomenon that would account for so cyclical a pattern on so vast a time scale. Finally, in 1984 two research teams of astronomers and astrophysicists, working independently, came up with almost identical theories. The central figure of both theories was a mysterious sister star of the sun, variously dubbed Nemesis and the Death Star (binary systems are the norm in the cosmos). This star which is proposed to be apx. 1/10 the size of the Sun travels by an elongated orbit that is completed every 26 million years...and at some point in the journey enters a debris area or causes a gravitational disturbance which sends asteroids earthward. In 1987 researchers at the United States Geological Survey in Denver, Colorado, announced that they had found strong evidence to support the Alvarez theory. They analyzed microscopic particles of quartz found in 65 million-year-old sediments from around the world...which showed structural cracks associated with a single cataclysmic impact (exceeding 1.3 million pounds per sq. inch) and embedded with high amounts of iridium. Now I would like to take the Alvarez theory one step further by showing a striking cycle of 13 million years...rather than 26 million years. If you look at the chart below you can easily see the relationship between ocasionally severe cyclic (every 13 million-year) peltings of the Earth by asteroids (large and small) and the major changes as to the dominant life forms on Earth. It has been exactly five times 13 million years since the Dinosaurs were destroyed. Is it time for us? In the following chart I have shown the minor changes from standard dating, which would exactly match with this theory. So, although the Dinodoom theory does not mean certain destrucion in 2002 a.d., it definitely fits nicely into our time era. Consider the modern discovery of the details of this cyclic disaster as a warning from God...as are all natural and man-made disasters such as the Titanic and typhoons and storms and volcanic eruptions etc. Are all disasters cyclic by nature and intended to be, primarily, warnings from an awesome God? Does history truly repeat? Is there nothing new under the Sun?
