Mike's story allegedly begins on New Year's Eve, where he claims his parents got careless. (You know what one glass of champagne can do to folks unaccustomed to the effects of alcohol.) Thus, Mike was conceived. This miscalculation of the rhythm method at least empowered him with a musical mind, perhaps valueless in any other way, that created The Donors.
Why did he name it The Donors you may ask? Is it because he can only give away his music? No, the name is derived from more personal influences. First, his family is involved in the bloodbanking business, an effort strongly attributable to his late father, an MD that found time to also be director of The Jacksonville Blood Bank. Secondly, he required a kidney transplant at the age of 22, so the word "Donor" was once again at the forefront of his life. After having remarkable success with his transplant he decided, after supporting many bands with names such as "Intrepid" "Sedberry Hill" and "Oh Yea," to put something personal into the name of his band.
