Below are links to the most commonly requested resources you might find useful. If you can't find the resource you're looking for here, check our
links page first, as it contains links to organizations that also offer a wealth of resources. If you still can't find what you need, then drop us an
email describing what you're looking for. Just because it's not posted here, doesn't mean we don't have it or don't know how to get it!
INTERNET BROWSERS
The TMPB website, like many of today's Internet sites, takes advantage of cutting-edge web-design technology to bring its information to you. To benefit from these advanced features, we strongly recommend installing the current version of
Microsoft Internet Explorer or
Netscape Communicator and using one of them as your primary browser. If you're dead set against leaving the Dark Ages and upgrading your Internet browser, then that's OK, but you won't be able to fully experience everything TMPB, or the Internet in general, has to offer. To download the latest versions of these browsers, click on one of the links below.
INTERNET MUSIC PLAYERS
In order to listen to music on this site, as well as many other Internet sites that offer music, you will need either a
Real Audio Player or an
MP3 player. Although there are many versions of these audio players available from various companies, we provide links to our favorite freeware that is capable of playing these audio formats. Download them at the links below.
FORM READER
Downloadable forms generally require an
Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the forms. If you do not already have this software installed on your machine, or if you want to upgrade your software to the current version, click on the link below.
COPYRIGHT FORMS
If you're a songwriter, we can't stress the importance of registering your songs with the
Copyright Office at the Library of Congress enough. The first thing you need to do is fill out a
Copyright Form PA and return it to the Copyright Office with the required deposit. After you receive your Certificate of Copyright, review it to ensure its completeness and accuracy. If there are errors, omissions, or other necessary changes, you will need to file a
Supplementary Copyright Registration (CA) Form to make changes. You can find links to both of these forms below: (Both forms require an
Adobe Acrobat Reader to view.)
MECHANICAL LICENSE REQUEST FORM
If you wish to record someone else's music, you will need a mechanical license from that music's publisher authorizing you to use the song.
The Harry Fox Agency is the premier mechanical rights organization that makes this process easy. Begin by completing a
Mechanical License Request Form, and Harry Fox will help you with the rest. The link to this form is below: (This form requires an
Adobe Acrobat Reader to view.)
