The Verstraete Family Page
What ghosts haunt the family tree?
My family history goes back to an Ignace Verstraete who was born in 1740.
His son was my great great grandfather, named Ivo Verstraete (1819 - 1904)
who lived his life in Belgium. He is sitting with the cane in the bottom row
in this photograph from 1898.
My great grandfather Charles Verstraete (1864 - 1910) moved from Belgium
to Kansas City during his lifetime.
My Grandparents at their 50th wedding anniversary in 1972. They farmed land
on what is now the corner of 79th and Quivira in Johnson County. My grandfather
(Julius) lived from 1901 to 1982.
My parents, now happily retired (12/1996)
