COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
BLOCK GRANT
RESOLUTION 2005-30
WHEREAS, the Village of Capitan held public hearings on July 12, 2005;
July 19, 2005 and August 9, 2005 for the input of the citizens of the
Village of Capitan; and
WHEREAS, the results of the public hearing, the governing body of the
Village of Capitan authorize staff to apply for funds from the New
Mexico Community
Development Block Grant (CDBG) program in the amount of $500,000 to be
used for Public Service Capital Outlay for the purpose of installing a
water loop line to protect the water system due to a main break and a
backup water well; and
WHEREAS, the ISO rating would not lower the Village of Capitan rating
due to water pressure; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Capitan to provide the Village with an
efficient, manageable water system that will meet Federal and State
regulations and contribute to the overall health and well being of the
Village citizens; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Capitan would like to submit an application for
funding assistance for a CDBG Grant to assist this low/moderate
community in providing a better way of life; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the governing body of the Village of
Capitan that the project selected, funding request, and the effect on
the community served, meets the needs of the Village of Capitan as they
pertain to the 2006 CDBG Program;
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED on this 9 day of August 2005.
This is to certify that the requirement of Section 10-15-1, NMSA 1978
Comp. Concerning notice, public hearing and necessary coordination have
been met.
