WHEREAS, the Village of Capitan staff has discovered an accounting error of approximately $500 in the Environmental Gross Receipts Tax Account (EGRT Account), which was caused when a deposit that belonged to Lodgers’ Tax was made to the EGRT Account in error, and;
WHEREAS, funds were paid in error to LCSWA, causing the EGRT Account to be overdrawn a total of $490.70 at First Federal Bank, and;
WHEREAS, the Village staff does wish to correct the error and clear the overdraft at First Federal Bank by transferring the sum of $500 from the General Account to the EGRT Account, and;
WHEREAS, the $500 will be replaced in the General Account by adjustments to the amounts paid to LCSW for EGRT until the amount overpaid in error is corrected, and
WHEREAS, the Village staff does also wish to transfer $25 from the General Account to the EGRT Account to cover charges resulting from the overdraft, which will not be recovered, and;
WHEREAS, the Governing Body in and for the Village of Capitan, does approve this transfer and correction, and;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE
VILLAGE OF CAPITAN, requests authorization and approval from the DFA to make this
$525 transfer from the General Account to the ERGT Account, and;
DONE, PASSED AND APPROVED by the Governing Body of the Village of Capitan, Lincoln County, New Mexico on this 8 day of November 2005.
