WHEREAS, the Village of Capitan’s Volunteer Fire Department has been informed that their application for an Assistance to Firefighter’s Grant has been approved; and

WHEREAS, an amount of $38,475.00 in grant funds will be awarded to the Capitan Volunteer Fire Department; and

WHEREAS, the grant money will be requested and expended in the 2005 — 2006 budget year;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Governing Body of the Village of Capitan, meeting in regular session on the lO day of January, 2006 does respectfully requests approval from the DFA to adjust the 2005 — 2006 budget by allowing an increase in budgeted income in the amount of $38,475.00 and an increase in budgeted expenditures in the amount of $38,475.00 in the Fire Fund. A new line item titled Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AF Grant) will be created under other income to account for the income. A new line item titled AF Grant Expenditures will be created under other expense to account for the bunker equipment and self contained breathing apparatuses purchased with the grant funds.

DONE, PASSED AND APPROVED by the Governing Body of the Village of Capitan, Lincoln County, New Mexico on this 10 day of January, 2006.
