COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT
Application for Water Audit and Rate Structure Study

WHEREAS, the Village of Capitan would like submit an application seeking 2006 CDBG Planning Grant funding assistance for a Water Audit and Rate Structure Study for the Village water utility.

WHEREAS, the Village of Capitan is a bedroom community for Ruidoso and surrounding areas and a retirement locale for many people seeing a small community to settle into after retirement.

WHEREAS, it is critically important to the Village that we determine what our actual cost of producing water, operating our water system and how much is being produced daily and how much water is actually being bill and lost.

WHEREAS, the water and our ability to conserve, account for and manage our water utility is essential to the future of our community.

WHEREAS, the study for the water utility will provide an efficient, manageable system that will meet and contribute to the overall health and well being of the Village residents and business.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Village of Capitan should submit an application for the Community Development Block Grant Planning Grant funds through the Local Government Division/Department of Finance and Administration for their approval in receiving the Community Development Block Grant Funds for the Water Audit and Rate Structure Study Planning Grant.
