Resolution 2006-21
Appreciation of a “Job Well Done”
WHEREAS, Smokey Bear is recognized as the symbol of wildland fire
prevention throughout the nation and the world, and Capitan is the
recognized official home and resting place of the original black bear
known as Smokey Bear; and
WHEREAS, the Capitan community has successfully celebrated Smokey Bear
and the wildland fire prevention message with the annual event and
activities of Smokey Bear Days; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Capitan would like to recognize and say “Thank
You” to the following organizations for their support and hard work in
organizing and promoting Smokey Bear Days this May 5th and May 6th, 2006
Smokey Bear Hometown Association
American Legion Post #57
Capitan Chamber of Commerce
Capitan Lions Club
Capitan Women’s Club
Smokey Bear Park
US Forest Service
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THE VILLAGE OF CAPITAN says THANK YOU for
a JOB WELL DONE.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED by the Governing Body of the Village of
Capitan, New Mexico this 13th day of June 2006.
