RESOLUTION 2006-30
PUBLIC INPUT POLICY
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Trustees of the Village of Capitan has
determined a need for a policy for allowing citizens who attend the
meetings of the Council to have a specific time to address the Mayor
and Trustees regarding items on the agenda; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Trustees held a workshop on Wednesday, November
1, 2006, to discuss a public input policy and procedures; and
WHEREAS, it was decided to have the following suggestions incorporated
in the public input policy:
o Public comment will be taken after the agenda is
approved.
o The time allotted for all comments will be no
longer than thirty (30) minutes.
o Each individual will have up to three (3) minutes
to speak and cannot
assign any remaining time to someone
else.
o Each person will stand up or stand at the podium,
if one is available, and give their name and address before addressing
the council.
o Comments will be restricted to only agenda items.
o If a group would like to address the council, an
appointed spokesperson will speak for the group.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the Village of
Capitan to adopt a Public Input Policy incorporating the above
statements.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the Governing Body of the Village of Capitan at
the regular meeting this 14th day of November, 2006.
