VILLAGE OF CAPITAN
RESOLUTION 2008-33
SUPPORT OF COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
CAPITAN ALTERNATIVE TRAILS
WHEREAS, the Council of the Village of Capitan of Lincoln County of the
State of New Mexico entered into a Cooperative Agreement with the New
Mexico Department of Transportation identified as Project Number
TPE-380-1(41)83, Project Control Number L2048 in the amount of
$230,000; and
WHEREAS, Kay Strickland, Village Clerk, or her successor, is the
Village Representative who is authorized to submit any documents
pertaining to the project and act as the single point of contact, and
is the Signatory Authority who is authorized to sign reimbursement
requests and other documents requiring a signature for submittal to the
New Mexico Department of Transportation; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Capitan will assume the ownership of the
trails, be responsible for the liability, and fund all on-going
maintenance costs of the trails once the project is complete; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Capitan has available the required matching
funds as required by the agreement;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE VILLAGE OF
CAPITAN, NEW MEXICO, does support this enhancement project for a
pedestrian, bicycle and cart, and equestrian trail along Highway 48 and
Highway 380.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED by the Council of the Village of Capitan
on this 9th day of September, 2008.
