The Village of Capitan Board of Trustees met in special session on
Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at the village hall in Capitan, New Mexico at
7:00 PM.
Mayor Pro Tem Riska asked for a moment of silence and led the assembly
in the pledge of allegiance.
Mayor Pro Tem Riska called the special meeting to order at 7:03
PM.
Mayor Pro Tem Riska asked Village Clerk, Kay Strickland, for a roll
call of the members. Mayor Pro Tem Riska-here, Trustee
Payne-here, Trustee Davis-here, Trustee Wood-here. Village Clerk,
Kay Strickland, and Deputy Clerk, Shirley Pavlovic also attended the
meeting.
Item #1 on the Agenda: Approval of Agenda
Trustee Payne made the motion to approve the agenda. Trustee
Davis seconded the motion, and all were in favor.
Item #2 on the Agenda: Budget Workshop for 2007-08 Budget
Shirley Pavlovic reviewed the “profit and loss budget versus actual”
reports with the trustees. She reviewed the proposed amounts the
trustees discussed regarding the proposed salary ranges. Shirley
also reviewed the proposed expenses for the Smokey Bear Museum.
There was more discussion regarding salaries. Trustee Payne
suggested bringing everyone making less than the minimum up to the
minimum on the pay scale and giving everyone else a 5% cost of
living. Shirley gave the March bank balances of the general and
water funds and discussed the income that would be coming in before the
end of the fiscal year. The Trustees reviewed what was being
proposed for the animal control officer and police officers. It
was decided to meet again on April 25, 2007.
ADJOURNMENT
Trustee Davis made the motion to adjourn at 8:05 PM. Trustee
Payne seconded the motion, and all were in favor.
