Special Work Session/Joint with
Capitan School

The Village of Capitan Board of Trustees held a joint meeting with the
Board Members of the Capitan School on April 29, 2004 at 6:30 pm at the
Capitan School Traylor Gym. Mayor- Sederwall called the meeting to
order. Roll Call: Trustees present were George Tippin, Bill Martin, Ed
Davis and Bobbi Shearer.
Moment of Silence and Pledge of Allegiance
Approval of Agenda: Motion by Trustee Shearer seconded by Trustee
Tippin to accept the agenda. All in favor, motion carried.
Work Session: Joint meeting with the Capitan Board of
Education/Discussion of Baseball Field. The two boards agreed that a
Joint Power Agreement will need to be adopted. There is $6,000 ear mark
for the baseball field in an activity account through the school. The
School received $25,000 for design, construction and planning and
$25,000 for renovation from the State. Village of Capitan received
$100,000 for planning, design and construction of a softball field,
baseball field and building.
After a discussion of different options for the money, a committee was
appointed. Trustee Shearer and Trustee Davis were appointed from the
Village. To work on the Joint Power Agreement and plans for the complex.
Adjournment: Motion by Trustee Tippin seconded by Trustee Martin to
adjourn the meeting at 7:40 pm. All in favor, motion carried.
