John and Mahala Watson, in the 1830's, along with some (or all) of their children,

migrated from Rutherford County, North Carolina to St. Clair County, Alabama. Moses

Watson, son of John and Mahala, married Frances Brothers in St. Clair County and from

there, along with other Watson family members, migrated to Arkansas.

The county lines changed over the course of years and even though a family hadn't moved

their residence they were shown in different counties on the census records. This was the

case with Moses and Frances. In 1850 they are found in Champagnole Township, Dallas

County, Arkansas.  The 1860 census shows them living in Moro Township, Calhoun

County, Arkansas. They did make a move of residence before 1870 and were found

in Saline Township, Dallas County, Arkansas during the 1870 census. The county lines had

once Again changed before the 1880 census and there Frances was found living with son

Jasper and family in Prairie Township, Dorsey (now Cleveland) County, Arkansas, Moses

having departed this earth between 1870 and 1880.
