ONE USA WHEELER FAMILY TREE

FAMILY QUEST

The WHEELER LIST being accumulated at this site each week is made available for your on-line genealogy searching through the joint efforts of Earl Bryan, Marshall Ralph, Dorothy VAN DOREN, and her family. Our addresses are listed at the end.

Just as all genealogist, both amateur and professional, are hoping to find new link details; so we too welcome e.mail and all inquires about known and possible matches or corrections proven to be needed.

I recommend you first look at these names by clicking on LIST BY DATE, which lists family members sequentially (starting with child "A", "B", etc.) down to the last one born in each family line. The LIST by DATE will help you understand how my generation numbers and letters have been used at the end of each person's entry. Generation 7 had no siblings so the first letter after the 7 is for the child order in generation 8. The next letter will be generation 9. Only the last generation number will be shown on the right side of the generation number with its child order letter coming last.

The format is like an outline report from Family Tree Maker software and lets you use the FIND button on your web surfing software. Working in this file will make more sense to you when you find a name you are searching, because you can also find their siblings, parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins galore just above and below the name you have found.

Wives have been listed twice. Once with their married names in parenthesis ( ), then with their maiden names in brackets [ ]. When a spouse marries into the family, they receive their spouse's number (and a letter if siblings exist) followed by a dot and a spouse number (my wife is 12A.1 and I'm 7DDBA12A). If I have lost you, just select ALPHA LIST and enjoy looking for what names might match and link up with your interests.

If you are looking for specific last names, the ALPHA LIST may save you time.

If you are looking in a specific STATE , then select this list. The same family database is found in each of the three locations, only sorted differently to save you time. With a 28.8 modem using Netscape and a CITIZEN 200GX dot matrix printer I found the print time to take six (6) minutes and to take four (4) pages of paper for the largest list which is the date list. This is because I placed blank spaces to denote family changes only on the date list. As of April 1996 one sixth (1/6) of my known family has been input.

The names in my final list are the ends of my family tree branches. I have been stopped at these points for the time being. I'm still looking for their ancestors, siblings, mates and other descendants. This is my LongShot: I pray every web surfer, interested in finding new genealogical links, would look at these names, dates and states and even print a copy of this list. Someday you may find a new bit of information and get back to me. Have fun and may God bless your life today in a special way!

GED2HTML SITE

From this section of our home page you can search all of my GEDCOM file made from "Family Tree Maker" software. LINKS TO OTHER GENEALOGY SITES:

For those who are interested in more on-line searches of details for this family and others, Everton's on line library site has the complete WHEELER GEDCOM file under submitter SDNWQ4Z1. Select GEDSRCH to visit Everton's GEDCOM site. They will want you to subscribe on a monthly or six month basis but you can sample what their database files look like for free. The amount of detail in each submiter's GEDCOM file varies greatly, but you always get an address for the submitter and can write for more details for a link up.

Select GenServ to visit what I believe to be a very large GEDCOM database site. You have to submit a working GEDCOM file in order to use the on-line searching site but their annual fee is very low. You will need to down load their GenServ Documentation 23 page manual and learn how to e.mail search requests. Any size GEDCOM file will be accepted, the larger the better, but updates are limited to one ever six moths. I have just started step one which is to see if my Family Tree Maker GEDCOM file which was given Everton will be accepted by the GenServ site.

Select GENDEX to visit the Genealogy Home Page of the developer of GED2HTML and download the translator program.

Select Links for more genealogy help in using the world wide web.
