Does anyone have any information about Daniel WHEELER born in
Bridgeport, Connecticut and married to Charity JENNINGS?
He was the father of Joseph Albert WHEELER, born Dec 4, 1838, supposedly in Fairfield, CT, died Jan 27, 1920 in Middletown, CT. Joseph married Caroline STEVENS in Bridgeport, CT, and had four children, Hattie, Fred, Jessie, and Willie. Joseph's death certificate has his birth place listed as Fairfield, but there doesn't seem to be any record of his birth in the Fairfield vital records. I belive his date of birth is correct.
There also doesn't seem to be any information on this family in
Albert Wheeler's "History of Wheelers in America".
I would like any information on Daniel, his wife Charity Jennings or
the birthplace of Joseph. Also are any of you decended from Joseph
Wheeler? Thanks, Bob MORIN - Waterbury, Conn.

Comments: I found your page by surfing. I am researching WHEELERs and related families as JAYNEs and LONGs. Starting from Stephan Moses WHEELER - 2 sons William WHEELER and James WHEELER. My line is through James WHEELER. He married Abigail JAYNE - 2 of their children were Stephen WHEELER and Abigail WHEELER. Stephen WHEELER married Milly ??????. They had a son Stephen, JR. Abigail married Henry JAYNE (s/o Isaac JAYNE and Mary JONES), one of their daughters was Margaret JAYNE. Stephen WHEELER, Jr. married Margaret JAYNE. They were 1st cousins. They were my g-g-grandparents. Their son Andrew was my g-grandfather. He married
Sarah (Sally) WHEELER. One of their sons James William WHEELER was my grandfather. He married Elsa Elizabeth LONG. One of their daughters was Felicia WHEELER, my mother. She married Fred Louis BATES, and voila here I am. The descendents of William WHEELER are well documented. His son was James Moses WHEELER. I guess that's it for now. Thanks a lot. JIM
The WHEELERs landed in Connecticut and lived in Tolland and Windham
counties. They went to Orange County, NY, then to Washington and Russell
counties in VA.. They lived for a while in Floyd Co., KY and Casey
County, Ky. My g-g-grandfather Stephen WHEELER is buried in Casey Co.,
KY. His wife Margaret (JAYNE) is buried in Whited Cemetery, Liberty, KY.
Thanks for listening. JIM

Hello, My name is Chantel Tiffany WHEELER and I have begun my family
history research. Can anyone confirm info on Edward WHEELER who was born
in England (when ? ) and who emigrated to America in 1726 to settle in
New Haven, Conn. I know he had children but I don't know his wife's
name, kid's name's & birthday's, etc. except that they were born in New
Haven, Conn..
The next proven info I have is one of his g-kid's.
James T. WHEELER, born in West Haven, Rutland Vermont on July 15, 1803.
I'm stuck. Can anyone fill in some of the voids? I will share more of the
info I have too.

I will contribute what I have on a George Wheeler.
From The American Genealogist, Vol. XII 1934-36, page 5
An article entitled "Captain Thomas Wheeler And Some Of His Descendants" by
Homer W. Brainard, A.B., of Hartford, Conn.
About the year 1600 three men named Wheeler were living in Cranfield,
married and having fmilies. These were Thomas, John, and Richard, 'the
younger'. Thomas was probably the oldest of the three. "Richard the
younger" implies an older Richard. We know not how they were related.
Thomas and John may have been brothers.
Massachusetts
1. Thomas WHEELER, born about 1560-65; probably married twice.
Children baptised at Cranfield:
1. Thomas, b. abt 1591; m. Ann HALSEY; settled in Concord and Fairfield.
2. Timothy, b. 1601; died at Concord, Mass. 1687, aged 86.
3. Thomas, bapt. Nov 20, 1603; perhaps died young.
4. George, bapt. March 28, 1605; d. at Concord, May 1687; probably
married (1) May 12, 1628, Mary Studd, (2) Catherine ______, and had
William, bapt. Aug 8, 1630, d. young; William, bapt. July 20, 1631.
5. Susannah, bapt. May 31, 1607; m. Jan 20, 1633, Obadiah Wheeler, son of
John Wheeler of Cranfield.
6. Joseph, bapt. Feb 18, 1609-10; died at Concord, Mass. after 1678;
lieutenant.
7. Abiah, bapt. Jan. 17, 1612-13.
8. Mary, bapt. Oct. 20, 1615.
9. Ephraim, bapt. March 16, 1618-19; m. Ann ____; freeman at concord,
1639; died at Fairfield, Conn. 1670.
10. Thomas, bapt. April 8, 1620; m. Ruth Wood.
I hope this will help those trying to figure out George Wheeler. Susan Dorris sdorris@mychoice.net
