Enjoyed seeing Bill Wheeler's salutation of "Happy hunting and fishing".! South Carolina Wheelers are known for their hunting and fishing abilities.
I am looking for any information on a William Franklin WHEELER b.1847 "in the state of Georgia" and allegedly a relation of
Gen Joseph Wheeler
. This man lived in St. Bartholomew's parish, South Carolina and fathered six daughters and one son. We have his decendants, but no line on him. Thank you. Sam CREWS
(XIX)Subject: Pickney Rawsville Wheeler Resent-Date: Fri, 20 Mar 1998 05:09:40 -0800 (PST) Resent-From: WHEELER-L@rootsweb.com From: Deborah Goodman kgood@tenet.eduMy gg grandfather was Pickney Rawsville WHEELER, born Aporil 22, 1845 in Hall County Georgia; married February 25, 1871 in Marshall County Alabama to Martha Evelyn BELL (died July 27, 1920; d/o Ira Sanford BELL and Vina SHAMBLEE); Pickney died Sept. 8, 1927 in Greer County Oklahoma.
Pickney Rawsville WHEELER was the son of William Henderson WHEELER. He was believed to have been born in Kentucky. William married June 14, 1853 Hall County Georgia to Serena PIRKLE (born 1836; died Oct. 8, 1903 Jackson County Georgia). William's death is unknown as different stories of his disappearance surface. The Wheeler side of my family state he went to California, struck gold and was killed for his claim. While the Pirkle side of my family state William abandoned his wife and infant son and returned to Kentucky.
Does anyone know anything about William Henderson WHEELER? The above information is all that I can find out due to his disappearance and the different stories each family recounts.
Thank you. Deborah GOODMAN kgood@tenet.edu

(VII)Subject: Your Wheeler page is wonderful! Date: Wed, 19 Mar 1997 20:33:58 -0500 (EST) From: Carla Wheeler WOODS-Wfwjr1@aol.comHi, Bill! Ya'll have done such a great job-- it must have taken ages to put such a comprehensive web site together.
My ancestor is
HENRY WHEELER,
I have a large collection of Wheelers on my Family Tree Maker software, but can't find a connection-- every time I try to click on your "search by state" hot link, it says "FAILED TO PARSE". Don't know what that means, but I would be glad to add my branches to your page if I can only figure out this Gedcom translation business! :-)
Henry outlived three wives, and sired 14 children by his first wife and 8 by his second. There are more Wheelers in the area surrounding Cherokee County, Georgia that I've been able to count, but I'm more concerned about not being able to "find" Henry's parents or any information about his origins.
Thanks for your hard work; look forward to hearing from you. Carla Wheeler Woods, Marietta, GA
