Iowa Wheelers

The following breif trees are made from WHEELER List comments or left in our Guestbook by visitors linked with the state of Iowa, Abbr. IA, Ia. A state of the north-central United States. It was admitted as the 29th state in 1846. Part of the Louisiana Purchase of 1803, Iowa was organized as a separate territory in 1838. The Mound Builders lived in the area in prehistoric times. Des Moines is the capital and the largest city. Population, 2,787,424. (source citation is on index page):

I recently accidently found some birth certificates for some of my WHEELERs.in a place that I did not expect to: Mitchell County, Iowa. Does anyone connect, I am really having a time trying to finding any information on them.

The birth record for Clayton Charles WHEELER was a delayed birth record with the informant being himself in either 1957 or 1959. He was shown with a Saskatchewan, Canada address and documents shown for proof were his drivers license, his marriage certificate dated 12/11/1942 (didn't show who spouse was), and an "extract from family bible -- very old".

Does anyone recognized this family or connect to it? I am afraid I will have trouble finding all the children as I am finding alot of delayed birth records in the related CERNY/CERNEY records also. It is as though they weren't real gregarious and were very busy making a go of it and just didn't bother with the particulars -- taking things as they came and dealing with life as it came. I know that is the way my father was, and this is his aunt and uncle's family.

Any help I can get with this family would be greatly appreciated. Annie

P.S. I found the James in my recent foray into Iowa. On the birth records I did find he was listed as being born in U.S on one, Canada on another and WI on another. So at this point I still do not know where he was born.

While researching in Osage, Mitchell County, Iowa I ran across this. Maybe it will do someone some good.

William, I also have WHEELER in my family tree. My CERNY family married into the WHEELER family. The CERNY family immigrated to Iowa and moved to southern Minnesota. My WHEELERs moved to Estaban (Estavan?) Canada according to an obit I have. Any possible connection? Annie [None that my ggfather talked of!]

Cecelia's family lived in St. Ansgar, Iowa and in southern Minnesota but I do not know if she ever but I do not know if she ever did. Has 3 children: Andrew Jackson, Emma Jane and ? (a daughter). Martha 2m Chester HILLIARD after Gus' death and returned to western IA shortly before she d 16 July 1873 where she was buried.
