RDAP -- Z-Models

Z-Models are created by entering data for the options from the pull down on RDAP's main tool bar as shown in the figure at the bottom of this page.

The models are used in building the feeder segments where the endpoints, length and configuration are known.

Configurations are built from conductors and/or cables along with their spacings (the distance between conductors/cables) .  A configuration can be overhead or underground.

Transformers are represented by phase impedances (R% and X%) and kVA rating by phase.

In addition a configuration can be represented by a user impedances.  This allows direct entry of impedances in per unit or ohms per mile.
