Clarissa
Nanawa graduated from Mayfield High School May
2003. She was in both National Honor Society and
German Honor Society (where she scored in the
top 4% nationwide on the National German Examination).
In May 2002, Clarissa, along with other members
of the MHS German Club enjoyed
four memorable weeks in Nienburg and Berlin, Germany
as part of the German exchange student program
at MHS. The Nanawa family hosted Stephanie Veldkamp,
her German counterpart for four weeks as well.
Clarissa's
varied interests included drama and politics,
however, her number one love is cheer! She was
on the MHS Trojan cheer squad for four years where
she was a two-time UCA Cheer Award recipient.
Clarissa and Erika Hausermann also coached the
Picacho Middle School cheer squad during their
junior year. The
MHS Trojan five-girl stunt team competed at Cheer
National competition in Orlando, FL on February
2003, where they placed 7th in the nation.
