John married Elizabeth Semple, daughter of John Semple and Elizabeth Carlisle (Carlyle), about 1525. Elizabeth was born about 1497 in Fulwood, Rentfrew, Scotland.

   18 F    i. Janet Cochran was born in 1525 in Paisley, Rentfrewshire, Scotland.

+ 19 M    ii. John Cochran was born in 1529 in Fernois, Renfrew, Scotland and died in 1556 in Fernois, Renfrew, Scotland at age 27.

John next married Mary Lindsey, daughter of John Lindsey. Mary was born in 1530 in Fulwood, Rentfrew, Scotland and died in Fernois, Rentfrew, Scotland.
