Average Interval

The Multi-Tracer system samples data once each second and averages this data. This "Average Interval" setting defines the length of time for this average.

These average values are recording in the MTD data files. One line (a data record) for every average period.

Start & Stop Time

The Start and Stop times define the time of day range that average data are recorded. Data collected outside this range is not recorded.

Limiting data collection to a time of day, can help reduce the size of MTD data files and may be appropriate, for example, to limit data collection to daylight hours.

Note: There may be legitimate reasons to collect nighttime date. For example to keep a complete record of temperatures.

The Multi-tracer system has enough memory to store months of MTD data. Therefore there is no reason to restrict data collection time for the purposes of "saving" Multi-Tracer memory.
