SDSL: Serious Bandwidth for Internet Business |
WHAT IS SDSL?
SDSL provides a dedicated connection to the Internet that may be used to connect computer systems and servers so that your customers or clients can reach your services. If you provide services to the Internet, you can get a dedicated connection tailored to your needs, at a fraction of the cost of a T1 or Frame relay circuit. SDSL is a Symmetrical Digital Subscriber Loop, providing the same bandwidth for outgoing and incoming traffic. Static IP addresses are included in the service. SDSL connections are provided through ZiaNet and New Edge Networks. For information about inexpensive ADSL services for residential and small business subscribers, see the other side of this page.
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?
New Edge DSL services require a 58xx series Bridge ($279.00), or a router ($329.00), or an IDSL router ($299) with typical1 installation charges of $200.
WHAT ARE THE COSTS?
Service Max Distance Price 192K 20,500 ft. $125.00 384K 16,000 ft. $209.00 768K 13,500 ft. $319.00 1.1M 12,000 ft. $389.00
All DSL circuits are limited to a certain distance from the CO (Telephone company Switch) based on the speed of the connection.
These circuits are symetrical. Upstram and downstream bandwidth are the same. The name of the service at left indicates the guarenteed bandwidth in Kilobits or Magabytes, both upstream and downstream. A single IP addresss is issued with your service. Additional IP addresses are available on request.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?
Once ZiaNet has taken your order, you will receive notice of which services are available to you. After selecting which service level you desire, ZiaNet will place the order and advise you of the service date. This process may take 2-4 weeks. If your line test proves satisfactory, an appointment will be made to install service. A minimum 12 month contract will be required.
If you have any questions about these services, please see our FAQ, then give us a call. We are happy to help!
1 Does not include line conditioning charges in cases where the line must be installed, repaired or improved, in order to deliver the service.
