Administration Ministry Team meeting minutes

January 9, 2013

Present: Austin Breck, Don Behnke, Bill Marlowe, Donna Mathis, Winnie Quinzi, Lyn Ames, John Grant

The meeting was opened with prayer by Winnie Quinzi.

Austin welcomed the new members of the 2013 Admin Committee and presented some goals for the year. These were discussed and will be implemented.

· Shorter annual financial reports, and monthly committee financial reports. This will make it easier for congregation members and committees to understand budget information and needs for the future.

· Designated gifts will be itemized within similar categories, thereby giving more flexibility to amounts donated, and ease of record keeping.

· Monthly information to be published in the Good News in order to keep the congregation informed regarding church finances.

The 2013 Budget will be ready for approval by the Session at its January meeting. The approved budget will be presented to the congregation on February 24^th after the worship service.

The 2012 financial books will be closed by the end of January.

There was discussion comparing the amounts of pledges for 2013 and 2012, which are down by around 5% this year, according to current information.

John Grant made several suggestions for consideration by the Administration Committee.

• Annual corporate meeting for the congregation. Pastor Story would determine the date and type of meeting.
• Periodic budget reviews
• Keeping budget unfixed for the year, in order to provide flexibility for unforeseen circumstances.

The meeting was closed with prayer by Bill Marlowe.

Next meeting will be held on February 12.
