and Grounds Committee Meeting Minutes

Members present: Jerry Grandle, Janet Loman, Dennis
Thomas, Bruce Pearson, and Eddie Armendariz
Member absent: Roger Sellers
Bruce opened the meeting with prayer at 7:05 pm.
The 2013 budget was
discussed. Due to the nature of the B&G expenses, the committee decided that
it is difficult, even impossible to pare the budget by 10%. As Jerry noted,
it would be difficult to worship and have other church activities in our
coats and in the dark.
A master schedule of the
use of our church buildings was studied so that we could develop a more
efficient cleaning plan for Eddie and Marc. The committee reviewed daily
worksheets and discussed better ways to communicate with Marc while he is
off campus.
In order to more accurately
reflect Marc’s responsibilities, Jerry recommended that we change Marc’s
title from Church Handy Man to Church Handy Man/Custodian. The committee
agreed.
The committee also looked
at room consolidation strategies in order to save cleaning labor and
electricity.
The committee agreed to
recommend a COLA raise for employees to the Administration Committee.
Bruce agreed to submit an
article, asking the church members to conserve energy by turning out lights
and leaving outside doors closed.
The meeting adjourned at 8:50 pm.
