Building and Grounds
Minutes
Oct 14, 2014
Dennis Thomas, our
moderator, conducted the meeting starting at about 7 PM.
Additional members present were Bill Haynes, Ed Greene, and Roger
Sellers. Steve Johnson has apparently departed for MA.
We discussed several
topics. The water leak that was discovered in the kitchen dish washing
area earlier has not been repaired but is under control now. A pro will
no doubt be required to repair this problem. No action to obtain
outside help has yet been taken.
Much of the rest of the
meeting involved informal discussions about the Church Work Day set for
18Oct from 8 to 12 AM.
I was tasked to obtain
donuts, juices, Windex and many paper towels. Other members will develop
a listing of items needing attention and will provide a variety of tools
needed for the work. Since we do not know who will show up to work,
planning is a bit “tricky”.
We still plan to
“empty” the garage by offering excess pews and chairs for sale on the
internet. Pews have recently been removed from selected slots and are
now in the garage. Dennis has contacts which should help this arena.
We also discussed
Church renovation in concept. Many current members rather like the
current layout. Many feel a more well lighted and modern approach might
increase attendance by younger local folks.
Respectfully,
Roger L. Sellers
