 Items for Session:

  1. No Items for Session

Last Meetings Minutes:  Corrections to March 9, 2010 minutes.  Two additional items for session were not indicated on the minutes.  The two additional items brought before session on March 16 were the youth lock-in on April 3-4 to prepare for the Easter Sunrise Service and the youth lock-in on April 23-24 for the 30-Hour Famine.

 Budget Report:

A Transaction report is being generated for Salt and Light as an addition to budget and designated funds information.  Memo section of transaction report is to use line item numbers for better tracking of monies for making future decisions.  Mark is looking into doing the same for the youth funds.

 Sunday School and Church School:

CE received a correspondence email from Judith Ames.  During her absence she will not be preparing or teaching in Branigan Hall for Sunday School.  She spoke of the necessity of having someone do what’s needed.  The CE committee will address these necessities in her absence.  CE wants to convey thanks for all she does for the children.  During the summer, preschool and elementary Sunday school classes will be separate instead of having a multiage Sunday school class.  Adult class numbers are staying consistent.

 Youth:

March has been busy and Mark is proud of all the work the youth have done.  The youth, some parents and volunteers participated in a garage sale fundraiser at the church on the 13th of March with proceeds around $2000.  Over spring break, the high school and mid-high youth had movie nights for a time of fellowship and fun.  The lock-in the April 3-4 was for the preparation of the Sunrise Service on Easter morning.  Many activities are in the works for April and May.  The youth are busy raising funds for the mission trips this summer.  A parent meeting has been schedule for May 2, 2010 after church.  Mark is also making contacts with other youth ministers in the community.  The youth ministers are looking to meet on a regular basis.

Special Programs:

 Salt and Light:

The last S&L, April 14, will be a tailgate party with food and fun activities.  Everyone is welcome!  The S&L youth will practice after supper for the Musical during services on the 18th of April.  The following Sunday will be the S&L Luncheon after the church service.

 VBS (Vacation Bible School):

VBS will be taking place June 14-18.  The theme will be “County Fair” from Gospel Light.  The planning stages are underway.  Volunteers are needed for a variety of activities and the registration process is getting finalized.  Decorations were also discussed as to the type, the making and setting up.
