Opening devotion– Martha

Review and approval of last meeting minutes - October minutes approved as read

Written Reports

Salt and Light

• t-shirts have mostly been distributed, Kristy plans to order more in large sizes (2X/3X/4X). Adult polos will be ordered for those who wish to pay for them ($14)
• Advent ornaments chosen from Autom. Martha will order two packs of 48
• Moneybag-will continue with current process
• Salt and Light will sing in church Dec. 9 for the pageant, Dec. 24 for the Christmas Eve service

VBS theme selection

• First choice is Go Fish Guys “Backstage with the Bible” Martha will order kit for Kristy and teachers to review (Martha’s note: this theme was discontinued in Fall 2012, will need to select another)

Youth

• Trip to Temple Beth-El went well for the confirmation class
• Did not go on mid-school retreat: little interest
• Summer mission trips have been selected
  • Mid-school: Gunnison, CO “The Great Escape” June 23-28, 2013, $534/person
  • High School: San Diego, through Youth Works, July 14-19, 2013, $419/person
• Youth workday planned for the weekend of Nov 17-18. Plan to clean carpets and clean up yellow craft room in Reeves
• College group is going strong. Will be studying John next.
• AP testing will be May 6-16, 2013

Old Business

· Paid $118 to Cong. Life for 2 Hamilton Beach roasters

· Budget-discussed itemized report for designated. Did not have General Fund Budget

· Follow-up on copier-Norm gave Kristy a code for the gray copier

New Business

· CE Intern-Shannon will be graduating in December 2012. Authorized Kristy to select an intern for 15 hours/week through VBS, to be paid minimum wage.

· Kraft paper rack-authorized purchase of a stationary 8-roll rack

· Budget draft for 2013-came up with draft attached to minutes. Concern that we don’t have up to date General Fund numbers

· Teacher Appreciation Day, Dec. 9-will happen during Minute for Mission time. Have prayer that Martha will ask children and youth to read. Will develop bulletin insert with all teacher names. CE has fellowship hour that day. Martha will order a cake.

· Advent Devotionals: gave to Kristy to have Shannon put on labels. Anna and David will ask Deacons to have ushers distribute November 25, 2012, with follow-up Dec 2 (one per family for family devotionals)

Closing – Derek Merchant closed us in prayer

December 2: pancake breakfast

December 9: Christmas Pageant, Teacher Appreciation Sunday, Fellowship after church

December 15: Youth service project at Gospel Rescue Mission

Items for Session:

December 8: movie night for the Youth (use of church facilities)
