MINUTES

May 13, 2014                        6:30 PM – Jones Hall

 Opening prayer was given by Carol Goss

 Special Guest – Judith Ames

Mrs. Ames read a letter regarding her concerns on our child care workers when absent, we will discuss further if needed in next month’s meeting.

 Review and approval of last meeting minutes – Minutes for April approved as written

 Verbal Reports

• Pre-K and Elementary
  • Both pre-k and elementary will be combined for the summer starting

June 1

• Youth -
  • Parent meeting scheduled for Sunday will be rescheduled
  • Projector is in and is properly being stored
  • Garage sale items will be stored in game room until June 13-14
  • Youth all paid their committed portions
  • 2 more fundraisers left
  • Car washes have been successful
• Sunday youth
  • Nancy has started the 1 minute Bible curriculum that includes 52 weeks and aimed at middle school kids, they are responding well to it and attendance is normally 4 youth

• Salt & Light Coordinator – Michelle Osborne
  • Inquired about the S&L position and was informed by Susan that the search committee was looking for a youth director which would not be taking over S&L coordinator. Michelle has agreed to be the S&L coordinator for 2014-2015.

o   Reported that B&G planned on painting the Watkins dinner hall in July, however due to VBS being in July we will coordinate with B&G

New Business

·         Sponsorships – Will gladly be accepted for VBS

·         Minute for Mission – Will wait until 6/15

·         Greg will be in charge of youth for skits

·         Crew Leaders slots have all been filled J

·         Susan and Corina will meet with Rev. Hawkins on 5/21 & get updates regarding his congregation and VBS

·         Kitchen crew helpers still needed

 Closing – Susan closed us in prayer
