Congregational Life and Outreach (CLO) Ministry Team Minutes

Sept 11, 2012

Meeting was opened with prayer at 7:00 p.m. In attendance were Lon, Stephen, Donna, Bea and Kathy.

I. Upcoming activities

A. Trunk or treat

1. No salt and light on that day (Wednesday, Oct 31).

2. Begins 6 p.m.

3. Nora will arrange for a bounce house.

4. Based on last year, we are planning to cook 360 hot dogs. We also need 300 cookies and will ask for cookie donations from the congregation.

5. Will check crafts supplies, esp. for creating masks.

6. Need to talk to Rev. Hawkins about a table manned by the Spanish speaking congregation.

7. Bea will procure frosting and sprinkles for cookies.

8. Some remaining discussion for next CLO meeting are these: costume judges, photographer, praise band coordination, and coordination with other groups that want to have a table.

B. Lon volunteered to coordinate a hike, date TBD, with a youth focus, but open to anyone in the congregation who wants to go.

C. CLO has after-fellowship duties on Sept 23.

II. Review of recent activities

A. Blessing of backpacks went well. We had 30 to 40 children.

1. Photography and article in Las Cruces Bulletin was good.

2. We have lots of leftover pencils. We will put them in the visitor’s bags and distribute them at Salt and Light.
