Outreach (CLO) Ministry Team Minutes
October 9, 2012
Meeting
was opened and closed with prayer. It began at 7:30 p.m. In attendance were Lon
Anderson, Stephen Taylor, Donna Mathis, Bea Connor and Nora Yaryan.
A.
Trunk or treat
1. Wednesday, Oct 31,
begins 6 p.m., CLO committee arrives at 4:30 to set up.
2. Bounce house is
reserved, $55 total cost, Nora will ask for a check to be cut prior to the date
to have on hand to give to the bounce house company.
3. Hot dogs: after some
discussion we decided to go with the all-beef instead of the mysterious type.
Est. cost is $135 for 360 dogs.
4. We need 300 cookies;
Stephen will ask Linda to send an email to church publications asking for cookie
donations, CLO to make up any deficit.
5. Nora & Kathy will
check crafts supplies, esp. for creating masks. Will ask Emily if she is
interested in running this booth. Fallback plan is for Bea to run mask creation
and Lon to run cookie decorating.
6. Nora & Kathy will
check condiments and nacho making ingredients, and buy as needed.
7. CLO (Nora & Kathy)
will buy a roaster (18 – 22 quart size) for this event and future events.
8. Bea has procured
frosting and sprinkles for cookies.
9. Judges: Michelle
Osborn plus one more TBA. Committee will reimburse Michelle for expenses related
to prizes. Additional category this year is car decorating.
10. Photographer is Bob
McPherson.
11. Nora will ask Bruce
and Peggy about possibility of popcorn machine.
12. Praise band
coordination TBD
13. Coordination with
other ministry teams that will run a table, Lon will email
14. Martha Mitchell
offered $200 from CE committee towards this affair.
15. Church
announcements, Stephen will make congregation announcement 14 Oct and Lon will
make announcement on 21 Oct
16. Stephen will work
with church publications to make sure it is covered.
B. No
Thanksgiving dinner planned because of lack of turnout last year.
C. Lon
volunteered to coordinate a hike, with a youth and family focus, but open to
anyone in the congregation. Leaning towards 4 November, coordinating date with
Mark Hellman. Sack lunch. Soledad Canyon in Organs, 20 minute drive on paved
road, self-drive after worship.
D. Decided
not to host the children’s choir due to reliability.
