FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH (U.S.A.), LAS CRUCES, NM

CALLED CONGREGATIONAL MEETING

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 12, 2008

 

1. The Congregational Meeting for the First Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) called by the Session for October 12, 2008 to:
   1. Receive the report of the Nominating committee.
   2. Elect four members from the Church congregation to serve on the Nominating Committee 2008-2009 met in the sanctuary immediately after Church service.

2. A quorum of the congregation was determined to be present.

3. Reverend Story acting as moderator opened the meeting at11:30 AM with prayer.

He explained the purpose of the meeting and asked Ms. Susan Grandle to present the list of Church Officer nominees. Before she did that she identified the current members of the nominating committee and thanked them for their service. Ms. Grandle named the following as nominees for the class of 2011 Church officers:

                 Greg Temple                                        Marianne Maley

                 Larry Felhauer                                      Martha Mitchell

                 Blaine Goss                              Ken Osborne

                 Florence Hamilton                                Janice Sherman

Youth Deacon (One Year)

Dylan Anderson

 4.   There being no further nominations from the floor, it was moved to elect the nominees by    acclamation, seconded, and passed.

 5.  Nominees for the Church nominating committee were requested with the proviso that the persons put into nomination has agreed to serve. Five nominees were presented and they were; Greg Sherman, Michelle Osborne, Janet Loman, Barbara Brady, and Jean O’Neill. Tellers were selected and votes were cast by a show of hands. The four elected were; Greg Sherman, Michelle Osborne, Barbara Brady, and Jean O’Neill.                                                                                                                     

       6. Rev. Story thanked everyone for their participation and adjourned the meeting with prayer

      at 11:45 AM.
