October 9, 2012 – MEETING MINUTES
Attendance: Gena Breck,
Florence Hamilton, Lloyd Kirschenmann, Wayne Maley, Jacque
Parks, Jim Parks (Moderator), Greg Sherman, Howard Smolleck,
Marsha Topley, Harry Topley
Not Present:
David Klement, Neil Moe, Norm Story,
Moderator
Parks opened the meeting with prayer at 7:05 PM.
Minutes of
the September 11 meeting were accepted as distributed. Agenda as
sent out was adopted.
During the
budget discussion, the Moderator explained how designated
expenses can now be identified. Our accountant provided a
meaningful General Fund statement in advance of the meeting.

Reports from
regular activities included:
Choirs:
Bell choir could use one more player.
Organ &
other instruments:
One additional solenoid is failing. Howard believes it can be
repaired within the budget for maintenance scheduled this fall
Pulpit
Supply: No more
dates scheduled this year
The M&W team
expressed thanks to Rev Dr Wayne Hawkins for an outstanding
Worldwide Communion Service on October 7. They acknowledged a
meaningful musical experience with “Jesus Loves Me” sung in many
languages (although it was confusing to some not knowing when to
sing hymns in which language)
Worship
support:
Liturgists, young disciple leaders and sound/AV teams are being
scheduled. Womens’ Retreat sound person is still to be found.
SESSION
REPORT: Communion
was served on October 7 to 221. This included the Iglesia and
Faith & Fellowship congregations.
Sound/AV: Howard
reported that Sid Grantz provided quotes for equipment to
connect the computer and related digital equipment for recording
of services. Lloyd suggested an alternative for getting the
connections made. Harry will coordinate with them and post
instructions for use of the computerized recording system.
Faith
and Fellowship:
Dina is filling the pulpit for service on October 13.
Future
Team responsibilities:
October 31,
5:30 PM Trunk or Treat – Marsha and Wayne met and agreed
on a sing-a-long format. There are new song sheets; lanterns and
flashlights; a banner; and streamers. Jacque will bring treats
and an appropriate table covers. Marianne Maley will help and
bring pumpkin candy holders.
November 18
Thanksgiving Food Gathering; Watch for musical details
December 1,
9:00 AM Church decorating, in cooperation with In
Betweeners
For Advent,
Marsha announced 40 red and 20 white flowers had been ordered,
she will cover publicity.

The meeting
was adjourned with prayer at 8:15 PM.
