December 9, 2014 – MEETING
MINUTES
Attendance:
Brad Class, Pat Felhauer, Florence Hamilton, Bill Kuyper,

The meeting was opened at 7:00 PM by Greg, with prayer. Rev.
Story outlined recent discussions with the Iglesia del
Pueblo congregation.
The
4:00PM December 24 Christmas Eve service will include
English and Spanish elements; Faith & Fellowship praise band
will provide music. Joint services with the Iglesia
congregation services will continue. A somewhat
modified communion the first Sunday. They have asked that
passing the peace be included. This can be done the
second Sunday service. It was VOTED to support
including passing the peace when Iglesia del Pueblo
congregation joins in the second Sunday services.
A motion to accept Minutes for Meeting on 11/11/2014 with
the spelling of Loman corrected was VOTED.
Financial report showed 81% of the budget was spent at end
of November. It was VOTED to accept the financial report.
Bill advised ten Large Print copies of Glory to God are now
available. Pat will advise Deacon ushers about their
location on a Narthex table near the hearing assist units.
Advent decorating worked out well with help of more than 30
In-Betweeners and others. They completed about 11:30AM
last Saturday in time to socialize over pizza.
Upcoming Advent/Christmas services and events
will require help of all
committee members.
Jacque,
working with Linda, has ordered Poinsettias and has forms
for sponsors to order.
Decorating Committee has agreed to place the flowers for
services.
Candles
for the Christmas Eve are to be prepared Sunday 12/21 at
noon after Fellowship hour.
All
Teams to help prepare hand out candles for worshipers, set
up end of pew lamps
Kevin
will be asked to bring hurricane shades and pew holders from
attic & closet storage.
Return
candles and holders after Wednesday 12/24 services; make
ready for Sunday
De-decorating will be at 9:00AM, Saturday January 9. Greg is
to coordinate box retrieval at 8:30AM.
Pat will
put details in Good News and bulletin. Especially
invite folks to learn for the future.
SESSION REPORT:
Communion was served on December 7 to 213 worshipers; 20 at
Faith & Fellowship on 12/6 and to xx shut-ins.
Activity Reports
Liturgists are
still needed for 12/24. Other December dates are
filled.
Organ
will be tuned on Friday. Pianos were tuned (and
billed) two weeks ago. Howard asked for suggestions of
a contractor who might bid on a new access ladder for the
organ pipe room.
Sound/AV Howard is
continuing to make a master CD of each service that combines
the best quality from the two sound systems. Linda
then can copy on request.
Young
Disciples, Children’s Activity bags
reported all continues as planned.

Business
Incoming
moderator Brad Class announced that in 2015, six Team
meetings would be devoted to doing M & W business. On
other months congregation wide forums would explore worship
concept discussions; two sessions each on these topics:
I) The
Role of Choir & Instruments in Worship
II)
Liturgy, How We Do It
III)
Preaching the Means of Grace
The Team
thanked Greg Sherman for his guidance and service as
Moderator the past year. And they thanked Wayne Maley and
Florence Hamilton for their years of helping the Music &
Worship Ministry Team.
