Howard Smolleck, Rev. Story, Jamie Gill, Bill Kuyper
I. Opening
Bible reading and prayer at 7 pm by Brad Class
II.
Communion Activity: Bill Kuyper report 233 received
communion Sept. 6th.
III.
Pastor’s report: Pastor Story reported that Rev. Cho will
conduct the Korean service at 10:30 in the Cinema room and
will join us for fellowship following our services. Faith
and Fellowship will begin their Sunday service at 8:45 –
9:30 am Sept. 13. Rev. Orozco will conduct the Iglesia del
Pueblo services at 12:30pm this Sunday and then services
will change to 10:30 am so their members can also fellowship
with us. Pat Felhauer asked if this new information would be
placed in the newspaper and bulletin. Pastor Story asked
that she follow up with Greg Temple and Congregational Life.
On World
Wide Communion Sunday Oct. 4th, all services will
combine at 10:30 am. Pastor Story advised that all the
communion trays be completely filled for this service.
IV.
Moderator’s Comments: Brad stated that Ryan will be
directing the choir for the first time Sept. 13. Rebecca
West will be the temporary hand bell director through Dec.31st
Brad handed out a request by Janet Loman for use of the
church on Dec. 5th and 12th by
Operation Spread the Music. This was approved by the M&W
committee and Brad will take to Session Sept. 15th.
.
V.
Decorating Committee: Gracia Class indicated that in order
to receive quality flowers we need to order Christmas
flowers by Oct. 1st. She will meet with the
decorating committee and work with Linda Ramirez on getting
the flyers and notices in the bulletin that would be both in
English and Spanish, as well as determine the number of
flowers that need to be ordered and price. They would like
to have the Christmas flowers in the sanctuary two Sundays
instead of one, and will determine how best to care for
them. It will be helpful if Linda can prepare a list for the
deacons of who paid for the flowers, who want to take them
home, and who wants to donate, similar to the Easter flower
list. Rev. Yu and Rev. Orozco need to be aware of our
process for the flowers.
VI. Budget:
received and reviewed.
VII. New
Business:
Bill Kuyper
discussed the amplification of singers during the summer. He
will follow up with Rusty Smith regarding the microphones.
Jamie asked
if Faith and Fellowship could contribute a song during World
Wide Communion Sunday. She will follow up with the choir
director, Ryan.
Music and
Worship will be responsible for the fellowship hour after
the service on Sept. 20th. We will start the setup at 9:30
am.
Brad will
be out of town for the next meeting Oct. 13thth.
Bill Kuyper will moderate.
VIII.
Howard Smolleck gave the closing prayer at 8:05 pm.
Respectfully submitted by Pat Felhauer
