Las Cruces Soccer Referee Association General Meeting

Call to Order at 7:05 PM

Approval of the Minutes for the General Meeting of January10, 2007, was motioned by Andy Bristol and second by Greg Meraz.

Treasure Report was submitted by Gary Manley. He reported that checks are available to meeting. If someone else is to pick up check a note allowing that person to do so is required. A $10.00 penalty is assessed is a game is missed.

High Noon Soccer League Report: - nothing to report.

Mesilla Valley Soccer League Report: - Gary Manley announced that the Women’s League plays on Thursdays, Men’s 5 v 5 on Fridays, and Men’s Open on Sundays. If interested in doing games, contact him.

Assignor - Andy Bristol reminded everyone that he needs a Contract signed in order to get game assignments. He will be implementing a new policy, " 3 strikes and you are Out". (Attached to these Minutes as Exhibit A). He reported that there is 153 certified referees and approximately 150 slots to fill each week, and because of this he is implementing the new policy. The strikes are as follows:

    1. Conflict and not reported before the schedule goes out;

    2. Not show up for a game and/or not getting someone to cover the game;

    3. Late to a game - minimum of 15 minutes before game.

State District Referee Administrator Remarks- Gary Manley reported that patches and books may be picked up from him. He has some outstanding checks to be picked up. A Grade 8 Clinic to be held in Spanish the weekend of February 24th and 25th.

Assessors Remarks: Monty Wellborn encouraged for Grade 8 young referees to consider Youth Referee of the Year.

High School Referee Report: High School meeting to be held after General Meeting, election of group leader to be held.

Old Business: On U6 and U8 games referees are to report status of these games, example "game lopsided" or "game was even".

Also, referees in college and High School seniors encouraged to consider applying for scholarship.

New Business: Nomination for committees that were in need of members were filled.

Audit Committee: Gary Manley, Jose Briones, and Josh Switzer

Recruitment and Retention Committee: Samuel Wong, (needs one more member)

Judiciary Committee: Lisa Willman, Robert Gage, Gloria Marquez

Nominating Committee: Bill Lindemann, Gary Manley, (needs one more member)

Training was conducted by Nigel Holman. Topic was slide tackling. Definition of slide tackling and when allowed
