Board Meeting Minutes January 09, 2013

Meeting Started at 6:33 PM

Attendance Ray Burchfield, Lisa Willman, Paige Ramsey, Tom Duttle, Gary Manley, Jose Briones, Absent Jean McKeever and Andrew Bristol

Purpose of organization is Training

Ray attended LCYSL board meeting. They are focused on upcoming season, trying to run 2 season tournaments. Extension of Bruins Lane will potential jeopardize field 3 through high noon fields. Discussed the joint powers agreement and the control of the fields by the schools. The high schools may take 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. Youth league is focused on start of spring season. League is reviewing its options for protecting its interests in the fields. They are having trouble getting to city manager, no support with the parks and recreation department have a lot of issues.

Initiatives
a. Getting Referees recertified: Tom suggested we need to recruit more adults; we have too many youth. We have only 60% of certified refs recertifying in the past. This year we have only 33 so far recertified out of 120 on last year’s list.

b. State does not want us to use grade 8 or grade 9 clinics as recertification trainings.

Business Meeting

1. Call to order 15 Members present

2. Approve previous months minutes Bill Lindemann motion, Elliott Willman Seconded. Questions concerning the new bylaws were brought up and Ray made the commitment to send a copy of the old and the revised bylaws. Motion passed unanimous.

3. Treasurer’s Report Tabled.

4. Las Cruces Youth Soccer League Report - Ray attended LCYSL board meeting, they are focused on upcoming season, trying to run 2 season tournament, extension of Bruins Lane will potential jeopardize field 3 through high noon fields. April 20 and 21st Whole Enchilada Tournament
May 18 and 19th City Cup
Regular season will be 8 games and all teams will be guaranteed a spot in City Cup with 3 guaranteed games.
February 12 is going to be mandatory coach’s meeting.
March 2 Season starts.

TRAINING SCHEDULE

Recertification (last chance): Jan 26 1-5 ($65)
Bridge Clinic for Grade 9's to upgrade: Feb 9 8-5 ($70)
Grade 9 Clinic: Feb 16 8-5 ($70)
For all trainings the NMSRA registration fee is $45.00.
For the recert clinic the clinic fee is $20.00.
For the Bridge clinic and the Grade 9 the clinic fee is $25.00.
All training to take place at Gerald Thomas Hall, Room 200 on
the NMSU campus.
One check payable to NMSRA.

Looking for local field coordinator for NM Rush Spring Cup being assigned by Bauerschmidt
Discussed the importance of having tournament meeting before tournament, it was a tradition 5 years ago.
Discussed assigning for the youth league.
Tom asked Bill when he could help with a bridge clinic, Tom asked Dominique about a recertification clinic, suggested having it 2 evenings.

Tabled till next December emphasis Fort Lowell Jan 19-21 is a good recreation meeting.

Email Lisa if you want to go to Fort Lowell she will car pool. Bill talked about great time in Tucson.
