Las Cruces Soccer Referee Association

Monthly Meeting

Wednesday June 13, 2008

The meeting was called to order by President Gbogbo at 7:05PM.

The minutes from the previous monthly meeting had not been posted so they could not be approved by the membership.

Discussion was held regarding the world cup coming to North America in 2026.

There was discussion concerning the adult league in that the season was coming to a close and there were very few games left.

Several people discussed game situations that had occurred during the most recent season.  There was discussion concerning communication between the center referee and the assistant referee noting that the proper signal and time for discussion for a particular slide tackle or foul should be addressed during the pre-game meeting.  There was discussion concerning a player that had received a red card who apparently simply paid a fine so that that player could play in the very next game.  This situation would be addressed at the next meeting of the adult league officers and team representatives.

A brief reminder was stated that returning high school soccer officials should have already registered.  Those referees who were registering for the first time still had several months before the deadline to register.

The meeting was adjourned at approximately 8:10pm.
