Las Cruces Soccer Referee Association General Meeting

Location: NMSU Gerald Thomas Rm. 200

Date: March 12, 2008

Call to Order at 7:00 p.m. by President Andy Bristol.

Approval of the Minutes for the General Meeting of February 13, 2008, was motioned by Nigel Holman and second by Joe Fleming.

Treasure Report: Gary Manley reported ending balance of $6,391.00. Checks will be distributed at the end of the meeting.

High Noon Soccer League Report: Monty Wellborn reported City Cup will be held April 26 and 27th. U6 and U8 games will be held on a different weekend. Gary Manley reported that a coach was suspended and State and its representative have supported and protected the referees by suspending said coach until investigation is completed.

Assessor: Monty Wellborn announced that youth referees are encouraged to participate in the Far West Regional Tournament. Chris Grano from Albuquerque promoting growth of our young referees. If interested in traveling to Albuquerque to do games, contact Monty.

Mesilla Valley Soccer League Report: Bill Lindemann announced that everything is going great with the adult games. Martin Carrillo whom does the 5v5 and women’s game assignments posted his e-mail famcarro @hotmail.com.

Assignor - Jose Diosdado thanked everyone for their cooperation. Prefers receiving e-mails as opposed to telephone calls. Also, please only respond to e-mails when a response is necessary. Review of the Contract Agreement was done by President.

If a referee does not show up to do game assignment, referee will be fined $10.00, this was emphasized by President Bristol.

State District Referee Administrator Remarks- Gary Manley invited young referees whom were interested in doing games at the Far West Regional Tournament to be held the weekend of April 29th and 30th to contact him.

High School Referee Report: Robert Gage, newly elected group leader, encouraged High School players to register to do high school games. He also announced that the Gadsden School District will have games at the Middle School level.

Old Business: Gloria Marquez reminded everyone of the Kevin Riedel Scholarship deadline.

New Business: Robert Gage will be doing the game assignments for the Border Cup Tournament. Would like to know who is available. E-mail address rbtgage@cs.com.

Announcement: If a referee fails to return player pass cards, contact President Bristol and return them to the High Noon Soccer Office. Also, pass cards kept because of a red card should be returned to the HNSL office. All player pass cards must be laminated. Only exception is if the team has a letter from Erik Tuchfarber or Rick Hendricks.

Bill Lindemann conducted review of issuing arising during games with the MVSL.
