Cruces Soccer Referee Association General Meeting

Call to Order at 7:00 p.m.

Approval of the Minutes for the General Meeting of September 12, 2007, was motioned by Seth Gilpin and second by Hannah Rhey.

Treasure Report: Gary Manley was not present. Andy Bristol announced he had checks to pass out at the end of the meeting.

High Noon Soccer League Report: Nothing was reported.

Mesilla Valley Soccer League Report: Bill Lindemann also announced he had check from Mesilla Valley Soccer.

Assignor - Andy Bristol announced the Copa De Rey Tournament to be held December 8 and 9th. If interested in game assignments, contact him.

State District Referee Administrator - Nigel Hollman announced the dates of the Clinics for Recertification coming up. To be held December 1 from 8 a.m. - 12 noon; December 2 from 1:00 pm - 5:00 p.m.; December 15 from 8 a.m. - 12 noon and December 16 from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Fee is either $25.00 or $30.00 for grades 7 or 8. One of these sessions must be attended and test taken for recertification.

Assessors Remarks: Monty Wellborn had nothing to report.

High School Referee Report: Bill Lindemann announced that Robert Gage, Gina Gomez, Dominic Diosdado, Matt Presser and Gloria Marquez were selected to do the High School World Cup Tournament.

Old Business: Nothing to Report.

New Business: Election of Officers will be held at the December meeting. All positions are open. If anyone interested in running for a position, please speak with Lisa Willmam, head of the Nominating Committee.

Training was conducted by Bill Lindemann - Review of the Game Report and how it is view by others. Emphasized to put names and not only the jersey number on the game report. Also field conditions should be reported on the game report. Nigel Hollman conducted training regarding discussion of a video shown and the Laws of the Game. Discussion regarding book " Advice to Referees on the Laws of the Game". Can be looked at on the website ussoccer.com. Question address "Electronic item a referee should have when entering the field?" Answer: "Only a watch."

Nigel also announced and requested donations for the Kevin Riedel Scholarship fund. He asked everyone to consider making a donation from their earnings at the Copa Del Rey Tournament. He asked that each referee donate his/her earning from one game. Andy will have envelopes available at the end of the tournament for this purpose.
