Las Cruces Soccer Referee Association General Meeting

Location: NMSU Gerald Thomas Rm. 200

Date: October 14, 2009

Call to Order at 7:02 p.m. by President Gina Gomez.

Treasurer Report: There is $4333.63 in checking with outstanding checks of $909.00 and credit of $280.00, which leaves a balance of $3704.63.  Gary mentioned that another family member, only, could pick up checks if they have a notarized request from the referee.  This was for High Noon checks only.  Tonight's checks are for September games, only.

High Noon Soccer League Report: Gary Manley is scheduling the High Noon Soccer League games now and until the end of this season.  Let him know what level of game you feel capable of doing.

Mesilla Valley Soccer League Report: Dominique Gbogbo has checks for the MVSL games.

State District Referee Administrator Remarks: For those that do not make the four training classes through this year, there will be ONE free clinic this fall.  After that all other clinics will have a cost of $25.  Tonight is the last of the 4 required clinics for recertification requirements.  Those that have attended at least four of the five classes will only need to take the test that will be given in November.  New referees do not need to recertify until next year.

Assessor Remarks: Robert Gage discussed the "Youth Referee of the Year" program.  Ryan Reynolds was the choice for last year.  Selections will be made on both a male and female referee.  He needs those to come forward that would like to be considered.  This will require them doing centers on U16 games and be evaluated.  Robert mentioned that he has seen many that do not wear the proper shoes, socks, and shorts and do not wear a referee 2009 patch.  Of course those are the ones that don't attend meetings.  Pass the word that attending meetings is a significant help in improving your referee knowledge and abilities.  We should be striving to improve every game we do.  Even those that have been around for a long time, i. e. Tom Scott, still try to improve.

Youth Referee Information: No report.

High School Referee Report: High School referee meeting after the LCSRA meeting.

Old Business: None

New Business: The Nomination Committee was appointed by President Gina Gomez.  The committee consists of Joseph Fleming, Bill Lindemann, Andy Gallardo, Cathy Short, and Patrick Montelongo.

Training was conducted by Gary Manley and Andrew Bristol on "The Most Often Missed Test Questions".

Meeting Adjourned: 8:12 pm.
