Las Cruces Soccer Referee Association General Meeting

September 8, 2010

President Bill Lindemann called the meeting to order at 7PM. The minutes from the August minutes was motioned for approval by Tom Scott and seconded by Jose Briones.  The motion carried.  The secretary noted that 29 members were present by the sign in sheet.

Bill informed the group that $200.00 for travel reimbursement had been authorized by the board for those that attended the state referee clinic in Albuquerque.

Treasurer Gary Manley reported that there was approximately $5,800 in both the savings and checking account, and that there was little or no change since the prior months statement.

President Lindemann recognized some new referees that had recently become certified at the recent referee class.  Caitlin Scott was recognized as one of the outstanding youth referees from her performance and work ethic on the field.

Gary Manley noted in the assignor’s report to please check the posted schedule as late as Friday for the upcoming weekend stating that sometimes changes are necessary in an effort to cover the games.

The Whole Enchilada Tournament will be held on Oct.8-10, and that Gina Gomez would be the assignor for this tournament.  She asked that all interested officials please respond with their availability.

President Lindemann noted that the youth league will begin the fall season and to please check the player’s pass cards for the current year and season.  These cards should be laminated and that the coaches must provide you with a roster.  This information will be needed to complete the online game report.

The adult league will begin the fall season on Sept.16 for the women, Sept. 17 for “Over 30”, and Sept. 19 for the men’s open games.  Remember that if the player does not have a current player pass card, they do not play.

District Referee Administrator Gary Manley announced the recertification class would be on Sunday, Oct. 3 from 1pm-5pm.

 No assessor report was given.

Robert Gage gave a reminder that there would be a high school referee meeting on the following Monday.

Nigel Holman gave the training focusing on managing the free kick.  He also went over the local youth rules with reminders about the differences between the age groups and the zero tolerance policy of the local youth league.

Jose Briones moved to have the meeting adjourned at 8:20PM.  Joe Fleming seconded and motion carried.
