We had a very nice visit with Robert and Anne Boren. They have retired in New Zealand and were back in the states to visit some old friends and acquaintances. Robert, whom we met in Colorado at a couple of M-B events in 1999, and Anne were on their way to Arizona to visit some friends and stopped in to visit us and to see, first hand, our collection of vehicles.

February 19-22, 2002

We met Bo Boring while he was in town to do some pinstriping and painting on a friend's trailer. After watching him work for a little while, we asked if he would drop over to our house to see if he might do something on our Prowler. To make a long story short, he in fact did some pinstriping on our Prowler and also spent the next three nights at our house. Bo travels (with his trusted friend Harley J. Davidson) all over the US, pinstriping motorcycle fenders, tanks and helmets, mostly at motorcycle shows but will do other things such as cars, trailers, etc.

November 04-05, 2001

Bob Waling must have enjoyed his visit the previous year because he came back, but this time he was driving his new Almond PT Cruiser. Bob was caravaning with John Morelli who also was going to be living in Arizona, just a few blocks from Bob, for the winter. Since John is a Harley enthusiast we made a visit to Barnett's H-D showroom in Las Cruces. Also, Bob and John got to take a ride around the block in the Prowler. They were off to AZ the next morning after spending the night.

June 20-21, 2001

Upon coming home from being out of town for the day we found a distress call on our answering machine. Bill Brandt (president of the MBCA Scramento Section) was traveling from Sacramento, CA to Dallas, TX when he had some car trouble near Las Cruces, NM. He needed help in finding a repair shop that would take care of the 380SL he was driving. After playing some phone tag, Bill finally got a hold of us through the kind folks at MBCA NBO. After spending the night at our place, the next day we were able to get the 380SL to a M-B mechanic and Bill was on his way right after lunch.

April 13-15, 2001

David Cummings, Operations Manager and Acting Executive Director for Mercedes-Benz Club of America stopped in for a visit and spent the weekend. David also owns a Mercedes-Benz and has had several over the years, but he is also a car enthusiast so he had to test drive our newest vehicles. We also attended the monthly EAA breakfast at the Las Cruces Airport. David enjoyed seeing the many planes that were there but especially the P51 belonging to Colonel Frank Borman, in addition he also got to meet Col. Borman.

October 20-21, 2000

Bob Waling was traveling from Michigan to Arizona and stopped in to visit and spent the night. Bob is considering purchasing a PT Cruiser so we gave him a ride in the PT. He also drove one of our SLs and rode in the 300E. Bob really liked the MBs but he still wants a PT Cruiser. At the time he visited there was a spaghetti dinner for the volunteers for the annual AirFare at the Las Cruces Airport. We helped to set up the tables and then we all enjoyed the dinner. Bob also surprised us with a couple of PT Cruiser models.

April 19-20, 2000

Jyrki Pulkkinen from Ann Arbor, MI recently purchased a 1972 350SL in San Diego, CA. While traveling back home with fellow car enthusiast and second driver Roy Margenau, they spent the night at our home. We had a very nice visit, showed them our garages and they even drove all our cars. Roy, who is a Jaguar owner, conceded that the SL500 was a terrific car and he could even consider making the switch to an SL.
