Desert Mountain Four Wheel Drive Club
We have many trails from easy to extreme. Most of the trails run through arroyos and during the summer months we have the monsoons, so caution must be used. The temperatures sometimes reach over 100*, always bring lots of water for drinking and vehicle repairs. Spare parts are a must and always wheel with a freind. Being stuck or broke out in the desert by yourself is no fun.
The Trails, Easy to Extreme:
Trail Name Trail Location / Trail Notes Trail Difficulty Level
Coyote Canyon North of Tularosa, New Mexico EASY
Three Amigos   This trail is located in Coyote Canyon, North of Tularosa. Nice moderate trail. It does have one hard section but there is a bypass. MODERATE TO HARD
Rattlesnake   This trail is located South of Tularosa. There are plenty of spots to the side of the trail to play. MODERATE TO HARD
The Joker   This trail is ready to run if you think you have what it takes. It consist of two or three very interesting water falls before you get to the last and most daunting obstacle. The last obstacle is a fifty foot climb up some very steep very spooky terrain. This trail will offer the worst vertical climb I've seen. Prepare for a full day on this trail.  EXTREME
The Gauntlet   Due to the continuing work requirement of this trail we regret to inform you that we are closing this trail. This is a trail through the arroyo in Coyote Canyon. It has several large water falls to climb some off camber climbs and a very tight squeeze in the Wedge. You should be locked at both ends and expect some body damage. We have had a full size make the trip but it suffered in the body damage department. EXTREME
