New Business
- Sanctuary Lighting. Canister lights have been
unreliable and research and testing will continue on ways to improve
reliability. Results to date look promising. Several spotlight lamps
need replacing. This is a tricky high wire act but will be completed
this month.
- Web page requirements. We will require a statement
of the kinds of support we need from friends and members of the church
in order to help keep the facility looking neat and in good repair. We
will mention also semiannual work days. Bob Paul will write up something
for the approval of the committee.
- Columbarium. We will clean the outside wall of the
Sanctuary adjacent to the columbarium. This is a fairly major task but
will be done next week.
- Trunk or treat, Oct. 31. B&G will set up a washer
toss with treats for winners (and losers).
Old Business
- Carpet status. There is church wide agreement on
pursuing the carpet replacement project. Buildings and Grounds is
standing by to support whatever requirements are generated. It appears
that in addition to selecting new carpeting in the sanctuary, some
modifications of the choir areas as well as the pew areas will also be
needed. We will be awaiting inputs from director of choir, bell choir,
as well the Pastor, Youth Director, and sound system operators, etc.
Because of the busy church calendar, the planning and coordination that
will be needed, the work could not realistically be completed before
early next year The earliest date would probably not be before early
next year. We are leaning forward in the saddle.
- Funding of carpet project. The committee concluded
that there are several possibilities for good stewardship funding and
that it will not present a problem.
- Garage electrical work- outlets and fixture
installations will be completed in November including inspections. The
hole in the sheet metal siding-the result of vandalism- will be
repaired.
The meeting was adjourned at
8:50 PM.
