Introduction to Links
The Christian Internet
The Internet is full of truly outstanding Christian sites. This fact is particularly gratifying and encouraging to any one who has been exposed to, or read about, some of the truly trashy sites that are proliferating in uncontrolled fashion. Furthermore many of these Christian sites are visually appealing and make good use of the latest techniques to enhance their worthwhile content. One can spend days surfing valuable and entertaining Christian sites without seeing more than a fraction of what is available.
What do you want? Bible study? Visit biblegateway.com. There you can look up any passage in one of seven languages or in any of six different English translations. You can even search the bible for any of 22,000 topics. Devotionals? Try www.biblegateway.com/devotionals/. There you can get daily or weekly devotionals, or request that they be e-mailed to you on a regular basis. News and information about the national church? Its there at www.pcusa.org. The creeds of the church? They are there too. Christian movie reviews? Sure. Its all there.
An outstanding site is maintained by Christianity Today, a respected Christian magazine. There you will find Christian news, articles, reviews, information, and even humor.
It is impossible to list all worthwhile sites here (or anywhere else). However this web site contains a page of links sorted into various groups. Some of these links are accompanied by very short descriptions of their contents. It will take you many hours just to glance at them. Reach this page by clicking on LINKS at www.zianet.com /fpc or go directly to www.zianet.com/fpc/links.htm. The congregation is urged to suggest additional links (preferably with commentary). Use the form on the web site or send the suggestions to the church office.
