MINUTES OF MEETING
BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS TEAM MINISTRY
NOVEMBER 9, 2010
·
The Meeting was opened in
prayer at 7:50 PM.
·
Members present were:
Charlie Yaryan, Bill Brady, Jerry Grandle, Bob Paul (Mbr. at Large). Members
Excused were: Austin Breck, Ralph Miller, and Deborah Austin.
Old Business;
·
Trunk or treat: The
Washer Throw was well received. All participants won candy.
·
Old Garage door, west,
opener, needs repair. Jerry will take care of it.
·
Trash accumulated east of
old garage. Lon Anderson will oversee a Boy Scout detail for a cleanup.
·
Jerry noted that planning
and procurement and installation of bus garage door hardware are on schedule
for completion by year’s end.
·
Maintenance Manual
project has fallen behind our original expectations. Charlie vowed to come
out of retirement and help rejuvenate the effort. Others will support.
·
Sanctuary refurbishment.
Buildings and Grounds is awaiting crystallization of requirements to be
expected by early next year.
New Business:
·
The committee recognized
the upcoming need to plan for more hours for Randy Calkins. Planning in this
area is proceeding. It was decided that we also need to look at Michael’s
options as we plan for future custodial support. No actions were
taken.
·
The committee decided to
bridge the occasional gap in janitorial service in Children’s Garden
classrooms that we use for our children’s Sunday school. The Children’s
Garden janitors seem to need help to get their service up to the standards
that we require when the class rooms are turned over to us on Friday
evening. Members of the Buildings and Grounds team will inspect before
Sunday School and clean as needed while we look for a more permanent
solution.
Jerry Grandle offered a closing prayer.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 PM.
Respectfully submitted by Robert H Paul
