Sunday School and Church Classes:
The CE ministry team would like to acknowledge and say thank you to Judith Ames and Carole Goss for their service of programming and teaching the summer’s Sunday School to multi-age children. Adult Sunday school is going strong with Blaine Goss starting a new lesson series, Dick Dale leading a study on the Book of Job, and Susan Grandle leading a Beth Moore class. 3rd and 6th grade students will be receiving Bibles during Sept. 13 worship service. Elementary Sunday school fall workshops are starting Sept 13. Titles of the workshops are “Creation”, “Joseph: God’s Dreamer”, and “Advent: The Shepards”. Looking for a few volunteers to cover some classes for fall semester. Come and join the fun. College Ministry Group is looking to start Sept 21.
Youth:
Mark is very encouraged and pleased with the attendance at youth meetings increasing from 12 to 21. The youth did a great job serving at the Salt and Light luncheon. A new event called 5th Quarter will be introduced to the youth and their friends. It is a time for the youth to come to a safe place after high school football games and have a good time. The first will be Sept 11th from 9:00pm – 12:00am. A service project with the Gospel Mission is planned for Sept 12 starting at 8:45am. A Communicants class will start on Sept 13 (after church 12:30) for youth, 6th grade and up, who would like to join our church. The youth will be having a Pancake Breakfast fundraiser on Sept. 20 before worship (7:30 – 10:00am) in Walkins Hall. Mark will be out of the office Sept 24 to Sept 29 to attend a youth leaders conference hosted by “Youth Specialties” in Los Angeles.
