MINUTES

November 10, 2009

Committee Members Present: Theresa Armendariz, Gena Breck, Susan Grandle, Mark Hellman

Excused: Martha Mitchell, Greg Temple

The minutes from the last meeting were accepted. The monthly budget was reviewed.

Sunday School and Church class report was given by Gena Breck. Numbers continue to be consistent overall. The attendance in the video class led by Blaine Goss has increased somewhat. Dick Dale’s class has started a new study. The women’s class has concluded their study of Daniel. Plans are being made to offer an Advent class.

Youth report was submitted in writing. High school fellowship on Friday nights is averaging 12 students. Confirmation classes are continuing and will conclude in 4 weeks. Mark is teaching a course to the high school students during Salt & Light based in apologetics. Nov. 13-15 the high school students will attend a Presbytery wide retreat at Lone Tree. The students will be participating in a service project on Nov. 21. It is proposed that the students hold a fundraiser November 27^th (Black Friday) babysitting and gift wrapping.

Under old business the team discussed progress being made in the Discipleship project. The team would like to encourage all church members and especially the leadership to participate in this valuable faith project.

Michelle Osborne has accepted the position of Program Director. She will begin the week of Nov. 16^th. The Christian Education Team heartily welcomes Michelle to this position.

The team spent an extensive time reviewing the 2009 budget and proposed a budget for 2010 which will be forwarded to the Administration Team. Much discussion focused on designated funds and the impact on spending for the ministry of this team.
