December 8, 2009 6:30pm – Jones Hall

Present: Theresa Armendariz, Gena Breck, Susan Grandle, Mark Hellman, Michelle Osborne, Norm Story, Greg Temple

Absent: Martha Mitchell and Dina Schroeder

Opening: Gena opened with a group devotion and prayer at 6:30 pm

Items for Session:

Move for High School Youth to travel to and from the Annual High School Ski Trip on January 22 – 24 under the supervision of Mark Hellman and Chaperones. (Parent meeting to be January 10, 2010.)

Review and Approval of last meeting Minutes:

No corrections to the last meeting’s minutes

Budget:

CE cut its budget up to 50% for the 2010 fiscal year. Others of the CE ministry team wish to be able to review entire budget for the church and its ministries before ratification.

Sunday School and Church Classes:

Adult Sunday school is continuing with Blaine Goss leading “Purpose for Christmas” lessons and looking to begin “A Case for Christ” studies upon completion. Dick Dale continues to lead a study on the Book of 1^st Timothy. Women Studies class is looking for topics or interest for a new study. Children Sunday School numbers continue to stay consistent.

Youth:

The youth participated in the church clean up day. The communicant’s class is winding down. High School Christmas party was a lot of fun with playing games, baking cookies, and having a gift exchange. The youth will be meeting Dec 16 to practice singing for the Christmas Eve service. Looking to have a New Year’s Eve party and a High School Ski Trip in January. Lessons for the youth are involving “The Defense of the Faith”.

Old Business:

Discipleship Project:

The Discipleship Project is continuing. Looking for articles involving testimonies and/or book reviews to be placed in the Good News. For additional information on the Discipleship Project you can go to http://www.thediscipleshipproject.com

Salt and Light:

Last S&L for fall semester was December 9^th. Had a great turnout – biggest ever. We fed 138! S&L will begin its spring semester Jan 13^th. Looking to revise the registration form.

New Business:

Sunday School for Dec. 27^th will be multiage. It will be a “Birthday Party for Jesus”. Preparations are underway.

Looking to start discussions for VBS after the Christmas season. Curriculum, dates, and volunteers are points of topic.

The CE ministry team would like to convey our sincere gratitude for the wonderful works of Susan Grandle. The CE Ministry team as well as many others are blessed by her leadership and insight through her faith. Thank you Susan.
